The Opportunity:
As a Heritage Consultant at NGH, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality heritage assessments and project management services across a diverse range of environmental and infrastructure projects. Working closely with our experienced heritage team, you will conduct site inspections, contribute to reporting and assessments, and manage client and stakeholder relationships.
You’ll have the opportunity to apply your expertise in heritage conservation while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. This role offers a balance of fieldwork and strategic project planning, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is passionate about protecting and managing cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and delivering heritage projects in alignment with NGH’s quality and management systems.
Your key tasks will include conducting heritage assessments, preparing reports, and participating in fieldwork and site inspections. You will oversee project timelines and budgets, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
Additionally, you will collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to provide practical heritage solutions and contribute to project planning.
You will also be involved in the tendering process, including designing proposals and reviewing submissions.
Desired Skills and Experience
What we are looking for:
Tertiary qualification
in a relevant discipline (e.g., heritage management, archaeology, history, anthropology, or related field).
Demonstrated experience
working in the heritage sector, preferably within consulting or environmental projects.
Strong report writing skills
with the ability to prepare high-quality heritage assessments and recommendations.
Experience conducting fieldwork
and site inspections to assess and document heritage values.
Project management capabilities
including meeting deadlines, managing budgets, and coordinating multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
with the ability to build strong client relationships.
Understanding of relevant legislation and heritage regulations
applicable to Australia.
A collaborative and proactive approach
with a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
