The Opportunity:
Kickstart your consulting career with NGH as a Biodiversity Consultant, based in either Sydney or Wagga. You’ll be part of a supportive team working on high-impact projects that make a real difference to local environments. This role offers hands-on experience in fieldwork, technical reporting, and client collaboration—perfect for early-career professionals ready to apply their ecological knowledge and grow in a purpose-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Biodiversity Consultant, you’ll support the successful delivery of biodiversity components across a range of projects. This includes planning and coordinating fieldwork, contributing to technical assessments and reporting, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring work is completed on time, within scope and budget. You'll also assist with proposals, provide input into project planning, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver practical, solutions-focused outcomes.
What we are looking for:

A degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline

A foundational understanding of Commonwealth and NSW biodiversity legislation

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail

A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work collaboratively

A genuine interest in fieldwork and the practical application of ecological knowledge

Emerging experience in consulting, field surveys, or reporting (through work or study)

The ability to manage time effectively and contribute to project delivery

A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel for fieldwork as required
